Wild Standard Mothers Day Brunch
Tall ceilings, striking chandeliers and reclaimed, eclectic décor provide an elegant yet comforting dining environment at Wild Standard in Boulder. The menu focuses on sustainable seafood with additional emphasis on seasonal, organic fruits and vegetables. Chef Bradford Heap takes pride in utilizing fishermen and farmers with sustainable and responsible practices. Much of the menu is rotating and seasonal, but Mom will find a few mainstays like Wild Standard eggs benedict (pan seared hash brown, cold-smoked salmon, poached eggs, field greens, scallions and dill crème fraiche) and wild shrimp and grits (gulf shrimp, creamy polenta sauce creole and garlic-sautéed organic chard). Both house favorites are gluten-free.
Seasonal brunch specials include lamb Navarin (braised lamb shoulder, fennel, arugula, sweet herbs, shaved lamb chopper cheese, aged balsamic and rosemary) and the spring citrus salad (orange and grapefruit Supremes, toasted almonds, chèvre, avocado greens and champagne vinaigrette). The seafood-loving mama will also love the tremendous selection at the cold bar. The rotating options currently include five oyster choices, cocktail shrimp, wild Alaskan king crab and octopus Escabeche. The Say Your Pisco (Pisco, Pimms #1, Pamplemousse Grapefruit Liqueur and lemon juice) and Love Potion #8 (Spring 44 Vodka, apricot liqueur, elderflower liqueur, lime juice and grenadine) provide a welcomed upgrade from the traditional mimosa.
